Two years after its launch, African hotelier Onomo has taken another step forward with the opening of the Onomo Abidjan Airport hotel on 20 December. Business travellers can now access one of the 118 rooms at the establishment, based around 500 metres from Félix Houphouët Boigny International Airport. Created by Philippe Colleu and Christian Mure, two former Accor employees, Onomo is banking on the growth of the African continent, and intends to densify its network by focusing on economic and political capitals. After Dakar, Libreville and Abidjan, the hotelier now has its sights set on Lomé (Togo), Bamako (Mali) and Lagos (Niger), where the next three establishments are due to open in 2014. "Other projects are well advanced in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Accra (Ghana), Freetown (Sierra Leone), Nouakchott (Mauritania), Ndjamena (Chad) and Conakry (Guinea)," adds Onomo.
