The spotlight on business travel remains firmly on Marseille at the start of 2013. While one announcement follows another highlighting the arrival of new business hotels in the European capital of culture, it is now in the air travel sector that the Provencal destination is creating a buzz. On the morning of February 4, the Managing Director of Turkish Airlines Marseille, Erhan Ipek, announced the arrival of the Turkish airline at Marseille Provence airport (mp). From 4 June, four direct flights will be operated every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from the airport. These flights will enable business travellers from Provence to reach Istanbul, Turkey's economic capital, as well as the vast network of connections offered from the Istanbul hub, in particular to the Middle East and Asia. The 1era the world's leading airline in terms of the number of countries connected (98), serves nearly 220 destinations, and will also be setting up new offices in Hall 1 at Marseille airport.
