The prestigious Skytrax trophy for the World's Best Airline will remain with the Gulf States for the third year running. After Qatar Airways' two successive triumphs in 2011 and 2012, it is now Emirates' turn to reach the summit. The airline leaps from eighth to first place, ahead of Qatar Airways and Singapore Airlines. Turkish Airlines (9th) is the only European carrier in the Top 10, which is dominated by the Gulf carriers (3) and their Asian counterparts (5). The Asian hegemony is even more striking in the cabin crew category, where Cathay Airways wins ahead of eight other carriers from the region, in addition to Qatar Airways. Business travellers will also remember the trophies for best business class and best business lounge, both awarded to Qatar Airways, with JAL taking the title of best business class seat. Finally, Oneworld was named the best alliance of 2013.
