Inauguration of a brand new terminal for delta air lines in new york

Delta Air Lines moved into the new Terminal 4 at New York's JFK airport last May.

"Delta staff, our international customers and the people of New York now have the state-of-the-art international terminal they have been waiting for. Terminal 4 is a symbol of our commitment to investment in New York and around the world.says Richard Anderson, Delta's Managing Director.

Renovated at a cost of 1.4 billion dollars, the terminal has gained 32,000 m2 to reach a surface area of 185,000 m2, one of the largest in the United States. Phase 1 of the project includes new check-in areas, nine international boarding gates, centralised enfn security controls and an improved shopping area. In a second phase, Delta will add 11 boarding gates. When completed in summer 2015, terminal 4 will have 27 gates.

The highlight of this revitalisation is the Delta Sky Club, the airline's new showcase. Moving away from the classic sandwich/chip menu, Delta is offering a real culinary offering with regional specialities, sushi, cheese and desserts. All accompanied by fine wines, including the very chic Dom Pérignon! But above all, the Sky Club will set itself apart with its Sky Deck, a terrace installed on the roof of the terminal with a bird's eye view of the runways.
