"Freeing travellers from the anxiety and stress of travel": Alain Doré, Brandimage

Alain Doré is creative director of the Brandimage agency and designer of Air France's new business lounge at Roissy.

Air France asked you to design its new business lounge. What were your main constraints?

Alain Doré - Our challenge was to free travellers from the anxiety and stress of travelling. To achieve this, we had to make the most of the 3,000 m² of floor space in terms of atmosphere and comfort.
felt. On the other hand, as soon as they walked through the door, customers had to be aware of the services on offer. We opted for a flowing, plant-inspired design, recreating garden pathways that invite the traveller to take in the sights and sounds.
to wander from one universe to another. But beware! This is neither a park nor a garden. It's more of a restful passage before leaving the ground, a sort of plant interlude!

Wasn't creating a relaxation and spa area a risky gamble?

A. D. - No. We partnered with a specialist, Clarins, and together we designed a relaxation area that is perfectly in tune with the other areas: restaurants, work, reading, etc.
It has a special reception area, isolated by its location, with plenty of light and
inviting customers to take a treatment or relax on a bench lit by plant-inspired candelabras. They can also take a shower and drink an herbal tea.

How did you bring these different worlds together?

A. D. - We created a natural flow between the different spaces, encouraging transitions from one world to another.
The walls are all different and curved, just like in nature. The design is soft, the light gives warm, natural tones... Everything evokes the organic world!
