Over the years, the Prix Villégiature awards have become a major Parisian event, attended by ambassadors and hotel group bosses, as well as interior designers, arts and entertainment figures and, of course, journalists. This year, the awards were presented on 14 October in the lounges of the Shangri-La Paris and honoured the Hôtel de l'Europe in Amsterdam (best hotel in Europe), the Selman in Marrakech (best hotel in Africa) and the Sofitel So Bangkok (best hotel in Asia). The Sofitel chain also made a name for itself in the many other categories: the award for 'best welcome and service' went to the Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam, the award for 'best hotel terrace' went to the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese and even the award for 'best hotel breakfast in Europe' went to the Sofitel Quiberon Thalassa & Spa. The evening guest was not forgotten either, as the Shangri-La Paris received the award for "Best Hotel Interior Design in Europe".
