Twenty years: a good age! As Eurostar celebrates its twentieth anniversary in 2014, the rail company can already look back on a record year. More than 10 million passengers travelled on the rail carrier's network in 2013, bringing the total number of passengers carried by Eurostar since its launch in 1994 to 140 million. The company's directors were quick to hail this as a "historic event", due in particular to "the recent signs of economic recovery in Great Britain", "the introduction of new routes and destinations", and the influx of international travellers from the United States, Australia, China and Brazil.
