The integration of the low-cost model into the traditional airlines, which is at the root of the strike currently disrupting Air France traffic, is continuing on the other side of the Rhine. From Thursday 18 September, Germanwings will be serving Paris, Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle airports from Düsseldorf. A total of 23 weekly flights will be operated between Paris and Düsseldorf, compared to 18 flights to Birmingham, 17 to Manchester, six to Newcastle and seven to Glasgow. All these routes were previously operated by the low-cost carrier's parent airline, Lufthansa.
