Located at Le Bourget business airport, relatively close to Roissy and the Villepinte exhibition centre, the new AC Hotels offers 122 rooms and suites with clean lines, a large work desk and high-speed internet access. In addition to a bistro-style restaurant, the hotel has an indoor swimming pool and a fitness centre open 24/7.
Originating in Spain and the fruit of a joint venture between Marriott and the group founded by Antonio Catalan - hence AC - , the brand is setting out to conquer the Americas, opening in Washington in March after New Orleans last year. These openings herald Marriott's lifestyle offensive across the Atlantic. Like AC, MOXY, the trendy, low-cost brand which appeared last year in Milan, will also be crossing the ocean with eight hotel projects, notably in San Francisco, Chicago and New York, where three establishments are expected, including the first designed by the famous firm Yabu Pushelberg.
Born in the United States, the Autograph Collection, the 'light' brand for independent establishments with a strong character, is going in the opposite direction and is making inroads in Europe with new members such as the seaside hotel van Oranje, in Noordwijk, on the Dutch coast, and the boutique hotel Cotton House in Barcelona.
