A male, young, urban profile and concerned about comfort": these are the terms in which Aparthotels Adagio sums up the portrait of the "typical" French business traveller, based on a study published on 23 June by the aparthotel specialist. The survey, carried out between 11 and 17 May among 1,749 people, estimates that women account for just over a third (36%) of the business traveller population, compared with just over a third for men. 64% of men. What's more, while 40% of French employees aged between 20 and 60 are business travellers, Generation X still dominates the landscape: it now accounts for almost half of all mobile professionals, compared to 22.5% for the famous generation Y (20-29 year olds). This younger generation is also more likely than their elders to prefer a location close to the city centre (17%).
As Malena Salles-Cook, Sales Director of the Aparthotels Adagio brand, points out: "The new generations now have business expectations that are very similar to their private needs and requirements. They are the embodiment of the bleisure customer. The key is to be able to reinvent ourselves, to be even more present on the digital stage, throughout the business traveller's journey".
