Because travelling on business doesn't necessarily mean spending the whole of a Paris-Mumbai flight glued to your seatback, airlines are regularly improving their entertainment offerings. The latest innovation concerns Jet Airways, which will be integrating a new wireless streaming service during the second quarter. The first aircraft to be equipped will be the Boeing 737 Next Generation, on board which passengers will be able to access a wide range of in-flight entertainment (films, music, interactive games, children's programmes) from their smartphones, tablets or laptops. But Jet Airways is already focused on the next stage: the airline intends to move from a streaming service to satellite connectivity, which would include in-flight Internet access. "Jet Airways prides itself on constantly innovating and adopting new technologies to enhance the customer experience," says Gaurang Shetty, Senior Vice President Commercial, Jet Airways. "This initiative will offer passengers a premium entertainment programme and we are confident that this will be the start of a new service standard for delivering quality content to our passengers' mobile devices.
