From Libreville to Auckland, from Chiang Mai to Helsinki, Qatar Airways is continuing its global conquest. This was the message sent out on Wednesday by the airline's senior management, who unveiled the new route schedule at theITB Berlin a vast worldwide expansion programme. Fourteen destinations are therefore preparing to see Qatar Airways aircraft land - or see them land again. This is particularly true ofNice airportwhich is awaiting the return of air transport to the Côte d'Azur for thesummer 2017with five flights a week. Four other European destinations These include Pisa, Sarajevo, Skopje and Helsinki. At the same time, Qatar Airways will break Emirates' record for the longest flight by flying to Auckland. The Qatari carrier's African catalogue will also be strengthened, with the entry of Douala and Libreville next January, followed by Lusaka in Zambia in summer 2017. This expansion of the network - which is accompanied by an increase in the fleet - should contribute to raising annual traffic at the new Hamad International Airport from 28 to 50 million passengers by 2018.
