With the flamme now extinguished in Rio, the city of Tokyo has taken over the Olympic flambeau. And already, the prospect of the 2020 Olympics is stimulating the development of new hotels. In fact, a second Four Seasons is expected in the Japanese capital in spring 2020. The Canadian luxury brand, already present in the Marunouchi business district, is developing a new establishment in the rapidly expanding Otemachi business district. The 190-room hotel will be topped by a rooftop terrace occupying the top six floors of a tower that will have 39 rooms in all.
Frasers Hospitality also has 2020 in mind. The Singaporean specialist in long-stay accommodation is constructing a 23-storey building in the central district of Minato-ku, close to the embassies. In addition to 223 flats with a sophisticated design, the residence will offer a restaurant with terrace and meeting spaces. But travellers won't necessarily have to wait until the Olympic Games to enjoy the comfort of new hotels. Starwood's Luxury Collection has just made its debut in Tokyo with the Prince Gallery Tokyo Kioicho. Located in the Chiyoda district, in the centre of the Japanese capital, this 250-room hotel, designed by the Rockwell Group, has four restaurants and bars with views over the city.
