KLM is joining forces with Air Mauritius to offer a year-round service to Mauritius. From 30 October and during the winter season, the Dutch airline will offer three weekly services - on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays - between Amsterdam Schiphol and Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport in Mauritius. The Mauritian airline will take over for the summer season with two flights a week from 26 March 2018, on Mondays and Fridays. In August and October, a third flight, on Wednesdays, will be added to these.
Air Mauritius had already been working with Air France since 2008, with the two airlines operating code-share flights to the Indian Ocean island. "Amsterdam, in addition to our Paris hub, strengthens our long-standing cooperation with Air France-KLM in Paris. This enhances the offer proposed to our customers by playing on the hub role of these two major European hubs," said Raja Buton, Director of Air Mauritius. "Mauritius is a very nice addition to our network. The destination has been on our wish list for some time," enthused KLM CEO Pieter Elbers.
Flights operated by KLM are operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with Business, Premium and Economy classes. Air Mauritius, on the other hand, flies Airbus A340s in two classes, Business and Economy.
