Has EasyJet become an alternative to traditional airlines for business travellers?

Sébastien Calmejane - For the new generation of corporate travellers, the low cost is no longer a taboo subject, and the figures prove it. On departure from France, the proportion of traffic for business reasons has reached 24 %. Some routes are even setting records in this respect. For example, 48 % of passengers on the Lyon-Bordeaux route are corporate travellers, and 40 % on the Paris-Toulouse route. Over 60 % of CAC 40 companies have contracts with easyJet.

How do you explain this success?

S.C. - Our CEO, Carolyn McCallrecognises the potential of business travel and we have adapted our product accordingly. Our booking system on GDS is comparable to that of other airlines, with the great management flexibility essential to a business offer. With our most flexible fare, passengers can change their flight before departure, take the next flight in the event of a no-show or even change the passenger's name up to two hours before departure, in the latter two cases for a fee. We also offer up to eight or nine flights a day to major business destinations such as London, Milan or Toulousewith priority boarding at the airport. Our mobile application also provides real-time information, from check-in to boarding.

we continue to record double-digit annual growth in the French business market

What is Easyjet's position in France?

S.C. - France represents our Europe's second-largest marketafter the UK. For example, we are the number one airline in terms of passengers in Nice and number two in Lyon and Paris. And every year we continue to record double-digit growth in the French business market.
