Formalities
A biometric visa, valid from 1 to 3 months, is compulsory for foreign business travellers wishing to visit Côte d'Ivoire. There are two ways of obtaining a business visa: either directly from the Côte d'Ivoire embassy in France (102, avenue Raymond Poincaré, 75116 Paris, tel: 01 53 64 62 64), or by pre-registering online (for more information: www.france.diplomatie.gouv.ci).

Compulsory vaccinations
Vaccination against yellow fever is compulsory. The authorities recommend vaccination against meningococcal disease, typhoid fever and hepatitis A and B, as well as DT Polio.

Time difference with France 2 hours in summer, 1 hour in winter.

Currency CFA Franc (XOF) 1 EUR = 655.957 XOF (fixed exchange rate with the euro).

GETTING THERE

Two airlines offer direct flights between Paris CDG and Abidjan, including Air France which offers two daily flights to the Ivorian economic capital. The first of these flights, operated by Boeing B787-900 triclass eco, premium and business, takes off from Paris at 10.20am and arrives in Abidjan at 4.40pm. Lasting 8 hours 20 minutes, it includes a stopover in Bamako, Mali. The second flight, lasting 6 hours 20 minutes, is direct. Operated by Boeing B777-300 or Airbus A380 triclass, it takes off at 3pm for an arrival at 7pm. On the return journey, the flights take place at night, taking off at 6.55pm for the flight with a stopover in Bamako - arriving in Paris at 6.10am - and at 10.35pm for the direct flight, landing at Roissy CDG at 7.00am.

In the same way as Air France, but from Paris Orly airport, Corsair offers flights to Abidjan, either direct or with a stopover in . t with four weekly flights - on Mondays, Wednesdays, -. These flights, which last 8.5 hours, are operated by Airbus A 330-200.

Several international airlines, including TAP, Turkish Airlines and Royal Air Maroc offer flights with stopovers. It should be noted that Felix Houphouet Boigny International Airport, some fifteen kilometres from the Plateau business district, also has excellent links with Dakar and seventeen other capitals in the region via Air Côte d'Ivoire.
