Business travellers were dreading the month of April, and it won't be long before the disruptions start to be felt. Unsurprisingly, rail transport is the hardest hit on 3 April, with the start of the notorious "strike within the SNCF. We are announcing one TER in 5 on average, both in the provinces and in the Paris region.
Traffic is also very disrupted on the TGV network, with one train in 8 on average, with the main disruption expected on the south-east route, where one TGV in 10 will be disrupted, and none on the north-east route. OuiGo will be operating on 3 April. A For international business travellers, the consequences of the strike should be more limited: Eurostar expects 3 out of 4 trains, and Thalys expects traffic to be almost normal. However, no Lyria trains will be running between France and Switzerland on Tuesday.
The airline sector will not be spared by this day of action either. Air France is facing another day of disruption on 3 April. The airline estimates that 32.8 % of pilots will be on strike, 20.5 % of cabin crew and 14.5 % of ground staff. As a result, Air France plans to operate 75 % of its flight schedule. In detail, the airline is counting on :
- 70 % long-haul flights
- 67 % medium-haul flights to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle
- 85 % short-haul flights, Paris-Orly and provinces
The airline has already sent almost 130,000 messages since 31 March to inform its customers individually, but invites travellers to check the status of their flight on its website.
