Atypical with its attic reception room on the sixth and top floor of the building, the spirit of Maison Armance is just as strong. "Forget what you know about living in a hotel, a flat or a house: Maison Armance is a bit of all three, in the heart of Paris."says Emmanuel Gamez, the hotel's manager. For the 'home' feel, the hotel has an honesty bar, while the breakfast room can be transformed into a lounge for informal meetings. Business travellers can also use the business corner to stay connected. The 20 rooms, including six suites, exude a bohemian yet very Parisian charm, with mouldings, parquet flooring and shades of storm grey, zinc, brick or midnight blue reminiscent of the French capital's rooftops.
Without waiting for this opening, the Esprit de France group will be offering from mid-July another intimate, completely redesigned hotelThe Hôtel du Rond-Point on the Champs-Élysées has been given a new lease of life. The Hôtel du Rond-Point des Champs-Élysées, which is less Haussmannian in spirit but more Années Folles, has been brought up to date by the Milanese agency Dimorestudio in association with the Parisian architecture firm Artefak. The result is a 36-room boutique hotel with furnishings reminiscent of the transatlantic luxuryAll enhanced by sophisticated colours such as powder pink and emerald green.
In homage to Daphné du Maurier, who lived here in her youth, the Daphné bar offers a range of inventive cocktails and chic snacks. The hotel also boasts a new wellness area in the basement, with a 13-metre swimming pool and steam room. The establishment's hushed decor also lends itself to confidential business meetings, as the library, which welcomes book lovers around its fireplace, can be transformed into a meeting room for ten people. In the twinkling of an eye, the mirror becomes a screen and the facilities of the business corner are revealed.
