Uber presents a new "safety kit" for business travellers

Aware that the problem of "duty of care may be holding Travel Managers back when it comes to opting for new entrants on the business travel market, the managers ofUber are taking new measures. Visit VTC platform has just announced the integration of new functions designed to improve the passenger safety. These tools will be integrated into a new safety component, symbolised by a shield icon within the application. This new "safety kit presented on 17 October by Uber includes emergency call button112 directly from the application for business travellers in Europe, or the local emergency number for other business destinations. To save time and improve accuracy, the application will also provide travellers with the main useful information prior to the call: the exact location of the traveller with his GPS position in real time and thevehicle identification with its make, model and number plate.

The second aspect of this safety kit also concerns communication, but with the passenger's family and friends. Passengers can now define up to five "favourite contacts with whom to share their travel details. Users can even set this functionality to automate information sharing to all his Uber journeys.

Finally, the application will now display the vehicle's speed directly on the geolocation map visible to the driver.

Uber's managers are also focusing on passenger information, by centralising it in one security centre all the useful advice you need on how to use these tools and the necessary checks, such as locating the vehicle number plate before taking your seat.
