Eurostar has just published significantly improved results for 2018, driven in particular by growth in the business segment.

Eurostar recorded an increase in passenger traffic in 2018, thanks in particular to business travellers

In 2018, 11 million passengers boarded Eurostar: a record number, in increase of 7 % compared with the previous year. Among the positive factors behind this trend were the influx of American passengers (+9%) and the setting up the link London-Amsterdamwhich has attracted more than 250,000 passengers since April 2018. La third daily service between the two destinations should also contribute to this dynamic, especially as Eurostar is already talking about " the promise to launch other services as soon as governments have finalised border controls on the return journey Amsterdam-London" . But it is also and above all the business travel which contributed to this fine performance, insofar as the share of the business travel market grew by 12% last year, according to figures published on 5 March by Eurostar. This augurs well for 2019, which promises to be another special year for the railway company, which is celebrating its 25 years in business.
