After the inauguration of a first hotel in Paris in September 2018, Fauchon Hospitality will open a second establishment in Kyoto in 2020. Through its boutiques, cafés and bakeries, the brand has been present in Japan for 47 years. Building on its already well-established reputation, the luxury brand will be setting up in the heart of the former imperial capitalShimogyo-ku, close to the city's liveliest districts such as Gion, Higashiyama and Kawaramachi-Shijo.

The hotel will offer 70 rooms and suitesIn addition, there will be a Fauchon bakery and a Franco-Japanese tea lounge. The hotel's reception, the Fauchon Bar and the gourmet restaurant Grand Café Fauchon will be located on the 10th floor, offering spectacular views of Kyoto and its wooded hills sheltering sacred temples.

The Fauchon Hospitality concept is based on the "GLAM These are: Gourmet, based on the French culinary tradition; Localisation, with hotels that are always located at the heart of local life; Artists, with pieces of art created specifically for the hotel; and finally Ladies, with attentions reserved for female guests such as impeccably tailored bathrobes, Dyson hairdryers and Carita products, all complemented by a made-to-measure dressing room in each room.

After Paris and Kyoto, the new hotel brand is already preparing new developments. "In addition to the Kyoto launch, we are in advanced negotiations for hotels in cosmopolitan cities across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia, Jacques-Olivier Chauvin, CEO of Fauchon Hospitality. The aim is to keep pace with our strategy of launching 20 hotels by 2029."
