Huawei launches the first 5G-connected hotel

At a time when the major telephony players and telecoms operators are planning to roll out the 5G standard, Huaweione of the most ambitious in this field, is launching the first fully 5G-equipped hotel in partnership with Shenzhen Telecom and the InterContinental Shenzhen. The hotel has begun deploying this technology, which enables ultra-fast downloads, and therefore a faster, more reliable service. ideal connectivity with high-tech objects, starting with the first floor and the presidential suites. Continuous indoor and outdoor coverage is planned thereafter.

Already, guests can access the 5G network in the hotel lobby, allowing for ultra-fast speeds from their smartphones. This technology is also used by high-tech services like intelligent robots that can provide guests with information, guide them around the hotel or deliver orders. The presidential suites covered by the new network offer guests 5G hotel services such as cloud VR rowing machines, cloud games and 4K movies.
