The Hoxton and Mama Shelter: these two brands are representative of the the lifestyle spirit which is driving the hotel industry, will each be opening a hotel in London over the summer. For Hoxton, this will be its third hotel in the city that saw the birth of this trendy concept from the Ennismore group. After Shoreditch in 2006, followed by Holborn in 2012, the brand is continuing to expand in the up-and-coming districts of the British capital by moving into Southwark at the beginning of September, where former factories are being transformed into galleries, bars and restaurants.

Situated on the south side of Blackfriars Bridge, a stone's throw from the River Thames, The Hoxton, Southwark spans 14 floors and offers 192 rooms in five categories - Shoebox, Snug, Cosy, Roomy and Biggy - with services including a mini-refrigerator to store products sold at supermarket prices at reception and a free breakfast bag delivered daily.

As always, the communal areas feature a number of bar and restaurant areas, including a rooftop restaurant with views over the city and the Thames and a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant on the ground floor. The décor echoes Southwark's industrial and eclectic past, with the hop trade inspiring the fabrics and botanical-print wallpaper, while a selection of antique and bespoke furniture has been designed by English craftsmen.

On the business side, like the other Hoxton hotels, the hotel offers an Apartment, comprising six rooms arranged around a shared kitchen and a panoramic balcony. The brand is also taking the opportunity to offer its new Working From_ concept with a coworking space occupying six floors of the building and featuring 744 offices, five meeting rooms, a wellness studio and booths for making private calls.

If Mama Shelter has not exported its coworking concept to the UK Mama Worksthe brand brings its recognised sense of design with a hotel designed by interior architects Dion and Arles. Expected to open in August, Mama London is located just a few minutes from the Cambridge Heath train station and Bethnal Green underground station, in the Shoreditch district. Comfortable and ultra-connected, its 195 rooms offer, in addition to king-size beds, high-speed Wi-Fi and screens providing access to TV and radio channels, a selection of free films and mobile content sharing.

But, of course, it's the communal spaces that will make the difference. all the salt of the establishment with a vast restaurant organised around a long table serving homemade dishes, as well as a patio. Mama Londres also offers places to meet with its workshops and celebrate events with a private dining room. The hotel even has karaoke rooms to keep the evenings going.
