Europcar expands into the United States with the acquisition of Fox Rent A Car

As part of its strategic acquisitions programme, Europcar is to gain a foothold in the United States through the purchase of Fox Rent A Car.

Europcar is to expand its presence across the Atlantic with the acquisition of Fox Rent Acar.

Europcar Mobility, Europe's leading car rental group with a market share of 27 %, is about to take a major step forward in the United States. Europcar Mobility has just announced the acquisition of Fox Rent A CarFox Rent A Car is one of the leading independent players in the Atlantic. Present in 15 of the country's top 25 airports, Fox Rent A Car operates a network of 21 corporate stations and more than 100 franchises, with a fleet of around 18,000 vehicles. This will enable Europcar to access to the world's largest market rental and mobility services, thereby meeting the needs of both travellers in the United States and American customers travelling around the world.

This takeover is announced as the last of the mergers and acquisitions programme started three years ago. "Following the acquisitions of Goldcar and Buchbinder in 2017, the acquisition of Fox Rent A Car, one of the largest independent car rental operators in the US, marks the latest stage in our transformational M&A programme, which has enabled us to become a global 'mobility service companysaid Caroline Parot, CEO of Europcar Mobility Group.
