Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi is banking on record performance to launch the Mi Note 10its latest premium smartphone. It's the only model to boast a 108 MP sensor, not to mention no less than five photo modules, a telephoto lens with 5X optical zoom and an XXL battery, far superior to those of its fellow premium models...
This Android smartphone seems to have been designed solely to boast record-breaking performance in terms of both photography and battery life. While it remains the most expensive of Xiaomi's smartphones, the Mi Note 10 does a good job of undercutting its rivals, given its reasonable price in relation to its performance.
A quintuple photo module and an XXL battery
With its sober, elegant design, the Mi Note 10 falls into the category of large smartphones with a slightly curved Amoled screen measuring almost 6.5 inches, and a scratch-resistant glass front and back panel.
More than 88% of the front surface is taken up by the Full HD+ Amoled screen, for optimised immersion with a rather attractive, high-contrast colour rendering.
It's a pleasure to hold, especially if you want to make the most of its advantages in photo mode. The Mi Note 10 is equipped with no fewer than five lenses. These include a wide-angle lens with a 108 MP sensor, a first for a smartphone, and two telephoto lenses with sensors of 5 MP with x5 zoom and 12 MP with x2 zoom respectively.
There's also an ultra-wide-angle lens with a 20 MP sensor and a macro lens with a 2 MP sensor. This equipment, which may seem excessive at first glance, in fact ensures a wide range of uses, from shooting landscapes and successful panoramas to portraits. Photography fans will appreciate the Pro mode, with Raw format recording. The shutter release speed is not always its strong point, while the detail of the feathers on a sconce photographed in low-light conditions on a winter's day indoors leaves a little to be desired.
On the front, a 32MP camera is used for selfies and, more importantly, for face-detection unlocking. In terms of security, in addition to facial recognition, the Mi Note 10 incorporates an optical fingerprint sensor under the screen to unlock the smartphone once you place your finger on the required area.
In terms of battery life, the Mi Note 10 is equipped with a 5620 mAh battery that weighs in at 210 grams and, above all, really stands out for its record recharge timeJust an hour or so was enough to fully recharge the beast.
Positioned as Xiaomi's most premium smartphone, the Mi Note 10 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor, which is surprisingly not the most premium in its class. Another downside is the lack of a microSD port.
The fact remains that this phone, with its versatility in photo mode, its endurance and its design, is in a league of its own, at a price that is, all things considered, reasonable compared with models in the same category.
