It took fifteen months of preparation to finally achieve this result: from 1st April 2020passengers travelling on the national airline Royal Air Maroc will benefit from the power of the oneworld alliance. On this date, the Moroccan carrier will be integrated into the alliance which includes IAG, American Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines, Qantas and Qatar Airways. RAM will be the first full member of oneworld on the African continent. The airline's regional subsidiary, Royal Air Maroc Express, will also join oneworld as an affiliate member on the same date.
The integration of Royal Air Maroc into the oneworld alliance was first announced in December 2018a few weeks before the 20th anniversary of the alliance. An official joining ceremony will be held in March in Marrakech to celebrate the airline's arrival on board.
What contribution will Royal Air Maroc make to the alliance? The new bride's dowry is substantial, as RAM will be adding the following to the oneworld network 39 new destinations in 23 countriesThis will offer more flights and more options to frequent flyers of the alliance's member airlines. It will also raise Casablanca as oneworld's new Africa hub.
Royal Air Maroc currently connects Casablanca to more than 100 destinations in over 50 countries in six regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, North America and South America. Since 2019, RAM has been serving Brazil and the China. Destinations from Casablanca include the oneworld hubs of Amman, Doha and London Heathrow, Madrid, Miami, Moscow Domodedovo and New York JFK. Casablanca has a traffic of more than ten million passengers a year.
From 1 April, both oneworld and Royal Air Maroc frequent flyers will benefit from the new recognition of loyalty programmesand priority services at airports andimproved connections between the alliance's airlines in Casablanca. In addition to Royal Air Maroc, Casablanca already hosts flights by Iberia, Qatar Airways and Vueling. American Airlines also plans to serve the Casablanca- Morocco route during the summer season.Philadelphia to be launched on 4 June.

The new Safar Flyer Platinum top level will give its holders oneworld Priority Emerald privileges, which include access to first and business class lounges, priority first class check-in, priority boarding and fast-track immigration and security clearance. Safar Flyer Gold cardholders will benefit from oneworld Priority Sapphire privileges, which include access to business class lounges, priority business class check-in and priority boarding. Safar Flyer Silver cardholders will have access to oneworld Priority Ruby privileges, including priority check-in in business class.
