As uncertainty grows in Europe, with compulsory quarantine and bans on travel to certain regions, airlines are again suspending their flights, while travellers are cancelling their trips.
In this context, the Lufthansa Group - which brings together the German company but also SWISSAustrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines - decided to fundamentally change the pricing structure for these tickets earlier this week. Until the end of December, travellers will be able to change their booking as many times as they like, free of charge. Only the price difference will be applied if the booking is made in a different fare class.
The group is thus offering its passengers even greater flexibility. Until now, only one change of date was authorised on promotional fare tickets. The new provision applies to all flight classes until the end of December. This includes the "Light" fare, for passengers with a single piece of cabin baggage. The new rules apply worldwide to all new bookings. on short-, medium- and long-haul routes.

The same concern applies to SNCF, which announced on Wednesday that it was allowing tickets to be cancelled and exchanged free of charge valid on TGV INOUI, OUIGO, INTERCITES and TER trains connecting with main lines. This is in fact an extension of a facility introduced at the start of the pandemic. by SNCF in the face of widespread confinement in France. All these exchange and cancellation measures are valid until 1 November.
