A new ACTE index for business travel

The world of business travel is getting a major new statistical tool, with the launch of the ACTE index at three days of conferences running until Tuesday in Paris. The aim is to understand, forecast and add a new dimension to business travel.

The three days of conferences organised by ACTE (Association of Corporate Travel Executives) in Paris were marked by the launch of a new tool for business travel: the ACTE Index, unveiled on 3 October by Ron Di Leo, Executive Director of the association. The new indicator is designed to help companies anticipate future trends on the basis of data that is as varied as it is accurate. Already available free of charge on the Internet, the ACTE index offers the business travel industry data organised by sector - air, hotel, rail - by geographical area or by time period, all put into perspective by major economic indicators such as GDP or the unemployment rate. The ACTE index, produced in partnership with a number of players in the sector, including Sabre, Cornerstone and Capsaicin, is also intended to highlight "how business travel influences the economy, and is not just affected by it", according to Ron Di Leo.
