Abu Dhabi: Mandarin Oriental ushers in a new era for the Emirates Palace

Asian luxury group Mandarin Oriental has set up shop in Abu Dhabi with the takeover and subsequent renovation of the Emirates Palace, the Emirati capital's flagship hotel.

In the Kempinski fold since it opened in 2005, the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi is now officially under the luxurious Mandarin Oriental banner. This handover had been in the pipeline since the announcement, at the end of 2019, of the takeover of this emblematic hotel in the Emirati capitalOne of the most expensive hotels in the world due to the cost of its construction. A hotel of pharaonic dimensions, notably its immense central dome, overflowing with gold and crystal, set on the edge of a private beach.

To become part of the luxury group, the Emirates Palace was renovated over a two-year period and now offers 390 rooms and suites. These include - and this is a new feature for the hotel, as it is for the whole of the Middle East - vegan rooms with eco-responsible bedding, 'cruelty free' toiletries, a vegan selection in the mini bar and vegan food in the room service.

Another new feature of Mandarin Oriental's Abu Dhabi wellness offering is the addition of two swimming pools and a 1,500 m2 spa to its state-of-the-art sports facilities. a pioneer in many care practices" . On the restaurant front, the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi boasts several bars and eight restaurants, including the Italian table Talea, a Michelin star. Among the new features, the hotel also offers a new tearoom and pastry counter, Épisodes, to be enjoyed throughout the day.

Surrounded by a vast garden, the hotel also offers numerous possibilities for corporate events, both indoors and outdoors, with six open-air terraces, a ballroom of over 2000 m2 - also divisible into three, several large rooms for conferences and others more suited to meetings and steering committees, all completed by the Polycom Room, equipped with all the technologies needed for virtual meetings.
