This 3 December marks the international day of disabled people. A population that is often overlooked by those involved in mobility, and for whom Vairon Voyages and the Treep have just developed a brand new tool. TheAFM-Téléthon turned to French SBT in 2019, with the ambition of leveraging the start-up's technological resources to facilitate the complex journeys of these travellerswhether they are researchers, employees, children or adults with disabilitiesin addition to the thousands of volunteers involved. Travelling, which until now has had to be done by hand - with all that that implies in terms of time and complexity - is a far cry from the digital resources available to business travellers today.
" We wanted to offer a service that combined the best of digital with the expertise and proximity of a TMC on a human scale. "says Jean-Marcel Michonet, Director of Business Travel at Vairon Voyages. " We chose to innovate with the startup the Treep, which provided us with brilliant support in this adventure to best serve certain types of complex needs. Together, we have co-developed the simplest possible and most eco-responsible booking tool for trains, planes, hotels and car hire. The Treep is the only SBT that allows people of all ages to travel, whatever their disability. This tool is a real step forward in facilitating more inclusive mobility, and has enabled Vairon Voyages to go beyond simply recruiting disabled people into its teams, and become the key partner in their travel. "continues Jean-Marcel Michonet.
In practical terms, the platform designed by the Treep and Vairon Voyages for the AFM makes it possible to completely digitise the booking of a ticket, for example for a train journey for a wheelchair-bound teenager accompanied by a volunteer from the association, by offering them upgraded seats in first class - adapted for wheelchairs - and virtually zero fares for the accompanying person. All of this is enhanced by a chat function to assist the various parties involved if necessary.
" Together, in a spirit of deep and successful partnership with AFM Telethon, we succeeded in building a tailor-made tool, adapted to the complex needs that this association faced on a daily basis, all orchestrated by the operational know-how, assistance and support of an outstanding travel agency. "says Laurent La Rocca, CEO of the Treep. A tailor-made tool, developed as part of a specific call for tenders won last year by the TMC and the SBT, which will have enabled the two partners to make progress on the issue of inclusive mobility. With the possibility of repeating the process with other players.
- The 2020 edition of the Telethon is held on 4 and 5 December 2020.
