This is bad news for travellers, but it was to be expected. Since 1 March, Air France-KLM has put an end to total flexibility on cancellations of tickets purchased. Admittedly, we are not back to the conditions that existed before the pandemic. Tickets can still be changed.
The Air France website details that whatever the reason, It is always possible to postpone a flight before the departure date without incurring any change fees.. However, if the price of the new ticket is higher, the customer must now pay the fare difference. This measure does not apply to group tickets or allotment fares.
For cancellations, the systematic reimbursement options are no longer available. Instead, Air France is offering a non-refundable credit note valid for 1 year from the date of issue to book a new flight. Air France specifies that this credit is non-refundable for all tickets purchased after 1 March 2022. Visit the same restriction applies to all tickets purchased before 28 February 2022 for journeys scheduled after 1 July 2022. The credit note can be used to purchase several tickets if required.
All requests for refunds are now processed in accordance with the fare conditions of the ticket.. Full-fare tickets therefore continue to offer the possibility of a refund. In the event of cancellation by Air France/KLM, a refund will still be made, without any penalty for the passenger.
