
Air France took delivery of its first Boeing B787-9 Dreamliner last Friday. "Welcoming a new aircraft into the fleet is always a challenge. a great moment in the history of a company"says Franck Terner, CEO of Air France. Quieter, more fuel-efficient - "consumption is 20% less importantThis means we can look forward with confidence to a rise in oil prices."As Franck Terner points out, the arrival of this new aircraft is part of the new strategic plan, called Trust Together, which was presented on 3 November.

The Boeing B787-9 offers the "Air France's best"The new aircraft will be available in three cabins: Business Class (30 seats), Premium Economy (21 seats) and finally Economy (225 seats). While the aircraft has a new business class with a seat-bed designed to create a cocoon in mid-air, it is in Premium Economy that the most significant changes have taken place. The B787 sees theintroduction of a new seat. Wider, this new product also has a greater angle of inclination: 130°, compared with 123° previously. In economy class, the 11-inch video screens have been expanded. Last but not least for business customers, the aircraft will be connected with the WiFi access for all passengers. This service will cost between €5 and €30 depending on usage (from 20MB to 200MB).
After inaugural flights over France on 7 and 8 January, the first commercial flight of the Boeing B787-9 will take place on 9th January. It will then take the Paris-Cairo. From May onwards, after receipt of a second deviceParis CDG-Montreal flights will benefit from this new aircraft. As for future destinations, "we're working on it"said Franck Terner. In total, the company expects ten Boeing B787 by 2019-2020.
