Air India's objective is a total reconfiguration of the entire fleet of single-aisle aircraft reserved for domestic and regional routes. The carrier hopes that its entire fleet will have a three-class product by the end of 2025.
On the first two reconfigured Airbus A320neo aircraft, Air India now offers 8 seats in Business Class, 24 seats in Premium Economy and 132 seats in Economy.
The airline offers a Premium Economy cabin on some of its wide-body aircraft, mainly used for international flights.
In addition, Air India is launching five weekly flights on 18 August between London-Gatwick and Bangalore. A Boeing 787 with 18 couchette seats in business class and 238 seats in economy class will operate the route. Bangalore is the Indian carrier's fifth destination from London Gatwick after Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Goa and Kochi.
