Business travellers in Marseille will soon be able to fly direct to a new European business destination. Air Serbia will be positioned on the Marseille-Belgrade. Serbia's national airline - whose Etihad is a 18% shareholder - has scheduled its arrival at Marseille airport for 20 May next.
Marseille will become the third destination served by Air Serbia in France after Paris CDG and Lyon, which recently replaced Nice in the airline's catalogue.
The Marseille-Belgrade flight will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Air Serbia will be based on a Airbus A319 with an economy class in a 3-3 configuration and a business class (also 3-3, but with a neutralised central seat). The business class includes a dedicated counter, access to the lounge and an à la carte menu.
This new Marseille-Belgrade route is aimed not only at point-to-point flights, but also at the network offered by Air Serbia via its hub. The Nikola Tesla airport is growing in importance, as demonstrated by the recent inauguration of a new flight to Tianjin (China) on 9 December.
