As part of its digital transformation project launched in 2020, AirPlus recently launched a new portal to simplify virtual card management. It offers more user-friendliness, personalised services and new functionalities. For business travel, thanks to an interface with the most popular booking platforms, customers can generate a virtual card directly when booking in the relevant system and use it for payment.
In June 2020, AirPlus unveiled a virtual card for general purchases, the new platform brings together the entire virtual card offering offered by the corporate payments specialist. Customers can choose to create an account for one of three types of card: AirPlus Virtual Cards Classic for corporate business travel expenses, AirPlus Virtual Cards Travel Agencies for travel agency and tour operator travel services, and AirPlus Virtual Cards Procurement for corporate B2B purchases to accompany the extension of the card to general services.
This upgrade also adds new functions, particularly in terms of security - a card can be blocked at the click of a button - and card configuration according to use. Each virtual card number can therefore be restricted to a specific type of purchase, air, hotel, car hire, train, Mice or general purchases. The card can also be personalised according to various parameters: card limit, validity period, currency, merchant name, analytical data fields. In addition, access to the platform is secure, with user rights that can be predefined. Finally, as part of the new European PSD2 directive, a customer authentication stage has been added to the various key stages involved in issuing cards.
While the frequency of payments can also be set according to whether they are one-off or recurring, the new platform provides global visibility with the centralisation of all expenses paid with AirPlus virtual cards on a billing statement summarising these transactions, separate from the statement for the account held.
All products will gradually migrate to this new IT architecture, the new AirPlus virtual cards are available in 17 countriesThese include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United States, Great Britain, France, Italy and Australia.
