It's time for the business travel industry to take stock. Toulouse airport has just published its figures for the second quarter. And as might be expected, the closure of the easyJet base is not without consequences for the Toulouse hub...
Between 1 April and 30 June, Toulouse-Blagnac airport welcomed a total of 2,060,438 passengers. This figure is down by 3.7% compared with the same period in 2024. "The 2025 volume represents 80% of the traffic recorded over the same period in 2019" note the airport's managers, who also point out: "The closure of the easyJet base at the beginning of April largely explains this change over the first three months of the summer programme". The decline in cross-border flights (-12%) reflects this impact following the closure by easyJet of routes to Lille and Rennes.
However, to a lesser extent, almost all markets are down, with the notable exception of Paris. Traffic to and from the capital has increased by 3% compared with 2024, and represents 28% of Blagnac's total traffic.
In total, commercial movements were down by 8% compared with the second quarter of 2024. With 16,646 movements, the figure reached 71% in the first quarter of 2019.
