Asiana Airlines: a top-of-the-range link between Paris and Seoul

On the eve of its 30th anniversary, Asiana Airlines will soon be launching its new business class on the Paris CDG - Seoul route. French business travellers will be able to discover this new cabin, dubbed Smartium, in May. The number of seats in this business class has been reduced - from 28 to 24 - to guarantee a higher level of comfort for passengers. Arranged in staggered rows to facilitate access to the aisle, the seats are 2.04 m apart and unfold into a fully reclining bed (180 degrees). In terms of entertainment, this new Smartium Business Class incorporates a 15.6-inch (39.6 cm) HD monitor, coupled with an individual power system enabling passengers to recharge their laptop and electronic devices.

The Smartium is one of four classes of travel offered by Asiana Airlines, to meet the expectations - and budgets - of every traveller. At the front, two very upmarket cabins welcome the most demanding passengers: First Class offers a private space protected by two sliding doors, for a level of intimacy unheard of in the Korean aviation landscape. This First Class is complemented by a First, with sleeper seats measuring 1.98m, compared with 2.10m in First. Here too, partitions between each seat guarantee passengers' comfort and privacy. In addition, passengers who have booked a return ticket in one of these three forward classes will be offered a chauffeur service on the outbound flight to Seoul, Incheon or the Gyeonggi-do region from Incheon airport.

Present in France for almost ten years, Asiana Airlines made its debut in Paris in March 2008, operating three weekly flights between Charles de Gaulle and Incheon. The airline, which is a member of the Star Alliance network, has gradually gained a foothold in French skies. It now offers five flights a week - every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays - and intends to do its utmost to obtain the rights for a daily frequency.

Paris is not the only European destination served by Asiana Airlines, which also flies to Frankfurt, Rome, Istanbul and London. The British capital will soon be served by an A350. The new Airbus star will begin operations on the Heathrow-Seoul route in the second half of 2017, while the A380 is already in place on the daily Frankfurt-Incheon flight. French customers living in the provinces will be able to test and enjoy the A380 by transiting Frankfurt to travel to Korea and beyond, as Asiana Airlines has pre-carriage agreements with Lufthansa from Lyon, Toulouse, Nice, Marseille and Strasbourg.
