Atlantis thinks big in China

The Kerzner International group has announced the opening of a new Atlantis resort in southern China: Atlantis Sanya Hainan is due to open in 2016.

Lush gardens, swimming pools, giant slides, artificial lagoons and, above all, unprecedented volumes: the opening of an Atlantis resort is always an event for those who love unusual events. Business groups will be paying close attention to Kerzner International's announcement in October. The group is planning to create a third Atlantis in southern China, on the island of Hainan, after Paradise Island (Bahamas) and The Palm (Dubai). With its 62 hectares of land, its 'revolutionary' water features, its 3,500 employees and its 1,300 rooms facing the China Sea, the Atlantis Sanya Hainan will clearly be no exception to the brand's tradition of gigantism. The opening is scheduled for 2016 and will be carried out with the help of a local partner: Fosun International Limited.
