
The new recruit from British Airwayschristened Billwill be making its debut at London Heathrow at the beginning of the year 2020. This autonomous robotequipped with artificial intelligence (AI), a geolocation system and 360-degree sensors, will wander around the Terminal 5. Its mission: to guide travellers to the destination of their choice. Bill was designed by BotsAndUsand its translation should enable it to answer thousands of questions in several languages, particularly concerning real-time flight information.

This recruitment is not a first in the airport sector. Airlines such as JAL in Japan or Lufthansa in Munich have already turned to humanoid robots to streamline the passenger journey. More recently, a parking robot who took the helm on theLyon airportlast March.
