
With a new hotel opening almost every three days in China, the Hilton Group is one of the world's leading hoteliers in this key market. This rate of growth will be supported by new projects concluded in the first half of 2023. While the American group already has 512 hotels in operation in more than 170 destinations, Hilton has another 700 hotels in the pipeline. Several of the latest deals are due to open shortly, particularly in Shanghai. The Chinese megalopolis will see the opening of two new Hilton hotels in 2024 and 2025.
The first, as its name suggests - the Hilton Shanghai City Centre - is due to open next year in the heart of the city, close to People's Square and the Shanghai Exhibition Centre. For business travellers, this 382-room hotel will also benefit from its proximity to the Jing'an business district. Also in the Jing'an district, the American group expects the Hilton Shanghai Jing'an to open in 2025. Located in the Shibei Hi-Tech Park, a dynamic innovation centre, the establishment will have 250 rooms, several restaurant options, as well as meeting spaces including a 1,000 m² ballroom.
For its part, the Hilton Garden Inn brand is targeting the following locations along high-speed rail lines. Having recently celebrated the opening of its 50th Chinese hotel in the capital - the Hilton Garden Inn Beijing Daoxiang Lake - next year the limited service hotel chain will open a 210-room property in Hangzhou, just a stone's throw from the North Railway Station and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Next year, the American hotelier will also set up in one of Chengdu's historic districts, with the 207-room Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Chenghua.

At the same time, the Curio Collection by Hilton, a collection of top-of-the-range boutique hotels, will discover new regional destinationsYantai, one of the main ports in the northern province of Shandong. Alongside the opening of the Puyuan Yantai, Curio Collection by Hilton in 2024, the Curio Collection will be heading for the mountains of south-east China in 2025 with a hotel in Anji, in Zhejiang province.
