The citizenM brand has just given more details of its plan to open new stores in 2022. Visit six hotels which will be added next year to its portfolio of 24 hotels in 16 major world cities, had all already been announced. now it was time to find out more about the offer.
The pioneering lifestyle hotel chain has just unveiled a new establishment in San Francisco, almost all the inaugurations will take place across the AtlanticThis is where the CitizenM graft seems to be taking hold quickly, despite the fact that the rooms are comfortable but much smaller than American standards.
To begin with, two hotels will open in the first quarter in Miami, one in the trendy Brickell district and the other in the Worldcenter. Covered in a monumental work by Miami-born artist Jen Stark, the façade of citizenM Miami Brickell will contain 252 rooms, as well as eight societyM meeting rooms, topped off by a first for the brand, with a rooftop pool and bar.
Also in Miami and still in the first half of the year, citizenM will be offering a hotel even more geared towards business travellers, as it will be located in the heart of the business district. As part of the Worldcenter urban development project, combining offices, shops and hotels, the citizneM will offer 351 rooms, as well as four societyM rooms. And here again, the Florida sunshine makes it possible to offer a swimming pool and bar on the roof. As for the arty dimension of the venue, this will be reflected in a façade adorned with a series of sculptures by FriendsWithYou and a collaboration with artists Samuel Borkson and Arturo Sandoval III.
The first quarter of next year will also see the postponement of a second hotel in Seattle. Joining the South Lake Union hotel, the citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square will help to breathe new life into one of the city's historic districts. Housed in what was originally Seattle's first sawmill, the hotel will offer 232 rooms to travellers.
In the second quarter, citizenM to return to Washington to open a second address. The location chosen for this is also an area undergoing major regeneration, NoMa, short for North of Massachusetts Avenue. Close to numerous offices, but also to the bustle of the city centre, the citizenM will offer 292 rooms and three societyM rooms for business travellers.
Later in the year, in the fourth quarter, the brand will add a new business destination in Chicago. Located in Downtown, between the Riverwalk and Millennium Park, the hotel will be housed in a 47-storey tower and will offer 280 rooms as well as three societyM halls, which are advertised as being open 24/7.
CitizenM sets its sights on 40 hotels worldwide
As part of its expansion, citizenM is not forgetting Europe either.a fourth hotel is being prepared in London. Expected to open in the second quarter of next year near Victoria Station, this 226-room hotel will offer business travellers an accommodation solution in West London.
In addition to this busy schedule, the Dutch brand, which aims to pass the 40-hotel mark worldwide in the near future, has already seven openings scheduled for 2023. As far as Europe is concerned, citizenM will be adding a fifth site in Paris like London and will also be making its debut in Rome, on Tiberina Island. At the same time, the brand will continue its American adventure with a second hotel in Boston and a third hotel, as well as the arrival of the brand in Austin. The latest emblematic project for the brand is its move to Menlo Park, on the very heart of the Facebook campus.
