Ahead of the inauguration of the Sofitel Frankfurt am Alte Oper, scheduled for 2015, the Sofitel brand is expanding into another German destination: Berlin. Accor recently formalised a new management contract, which will lead to the arrival of Sofitel Berlin Kurfürstendamm next month. The former Concorde Berlin will join the three other Sofitel addresses already established on the German market, including the Sofitel Berlin Gendarmenmarkt hotel. The redevelopment of the restaurants, bar and public areas of the former Concorde hotel will take place during the first half of 2014, incorporating the brand's standards and drawing on the expertise of architect Jan Kleihues.
