This is good news for travellers who need to get to Mali from France. Corsair has just announced that it is resuming its between Paris-Orly and the Malian capital Bamako. A route that the company was unable to resume with the Covid-19 pandemic from 2020.
The airline's flight is seasonal and on sale until 18 September.. Corsair will launch a Airbus A330-300 with a total capacity of 352 seats. The airline will offer 12 seats in Business Class, 12 seats in Premium Economy, 78 seats in Economy+ and the remainder in Standard Economy (250 seats).
The carrier justifies its return by a strong demand for this African destinationdespite very poor political relations between France and Mali since the change of power in the latter country.
Air France and Corsair, the only Western European airlines to fly to Bamako
After having suspended its flights in January, Air France was finally able to resume flights on 16 February. It offers four weekly frequencies between Paris CDG and Bamako. This represents a reduced capacity compared to its pre-Covid schedule (two daily flights). What's more, the flight is a continuation to Nouakchott, which puts a strain on capacity. The aircraft assigned to the route is a brand new Airbus A350-900.
Air France and Corsair are the only two Western European airlines serving Mali. Brussels Airlines has still not resumed its flights from Brussels. The only other European airline to land regularly at Bamako is Turkish Airlines.
In terms of services to Africa, it should be noted thatAir France suspends its Monrovia stopover in Liberia. The last flight will leave Paris for Monrovia on 23 April. The route was a continuation of a flight on Abidjan.
