Denmark promotes itself as a "green meeting destination

With the emergence of concerns about sustainable tourism, Denmark is now presenting itself as a 'green meeting destination' for business tourism professionals.

This commitment was rewarded in 2010 with the Imex Meeting Green Gold Award, presented by the national tourist board VisitDenmark.

Host to around a hundred international congresses a year, Copenhagen has benefited from the recent opening of top-of-the-range, environmentally-friendly hotels such as the Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers, Tivoli, Bella Hotel, etc. All equipped with a conference centre with rooms for 200 to 400 people, these establishments have offered the Danish capital 1,600 new rooms equipped with the latest technology. Thanks to a range of innovative and 'green' solutions, VisitDenmark, Wonderful Copenhagen and the airline SAS will be focusing their efforts this year on promoting this MICE offering, which is capable of reducing the environmental impact of business events.
