DOSSIER - Montreal: cosmopolitan, gastronomic and cultural

As it approaches its 375th anniversary in 2015, the city of Montreal is showing itself to be ever more cosmopolitan, gastronomic and cultural. An open and welcoming city for a growing number of Europeans, especially the French, who love it here and never leave. Today, some 140,000 French people enjoy its dynamic, relaxed lifestyle. In terms of investment, the French surpassed the Americans in 2011, who had previously been Canada's main partners. It has to be said that the Montreal economy, based on cutting-edge technology and knowledge, is strong and stable. This is reassuring and seductive. So, under the impact of business travellers, the largest French-speaking city after Paris is developing its hotel industry, with a steady stream of renovations and new openings.
