DOSSIER - Tokyo: open to the world
Five years before the opening of the Olympic Games, the countdown has already begun. So Tokyo is getting busy! Hotels are being built in batches and neglected districts are being developed. New economic ambitions are also taking shape, with a desire to present a new, more open and welcoming image of Japan. These structural changes are accompanied by projects that go beyond 2020, such as a new high-speed train between Tokyo and Osaka, scheduled for 2027. So these are new developments, but they are still firmly rooted in a Japanese culture that is as vibrant as ever, but sometimes difficult to access. That's why knowing certain principles and rules is an asset when approaching Tokyo as a business destination.
