After Marne-la-Vallée next year, Eklo will continue to expand in the Paris region, with a business hotel due to open in 2022 near Paris airport. Paris CDG and Villepinte. This budget brand, launched in 2014 by Emmanuel Petit - and backed by the two founders of the Accor group, Paul Dubrule and Gérard Pélisson - will be showcasing its a low-cost, lifestyle hotel concept with its strong emphasis on design. A sustainable hotel, too, since the future hotel will be eco-responsible from its construction - with 60% of waste from the site being sorted and recycled - right through to its operation, being self-sufficient in energy thanks to its 44 photovoltaic panels.
Linked to the airport by a network of shuttles, the Eklo hotel is part of the development project of the Roissy Sud Joint Development ZoneThis 75,000 m2 development will combine hotels, shops and tertiary activities. The hotel will have 150 rooms, or should we say beds - 330 in this case - since Eklo hotels offer a range of accommodation types, from single and double rooms to twins and six-bed dormitories. As well as a car park, the hotel will feature a large designer living area with a bar and a restaurant with terrace.
From five addresses to date - in Bordeaux, Clermont-FerrandLe Havre, Le Mans and Lille - the Eklo Group is aiming for a fleet of one forty hotels within 10 years. A number of openings are already planned, in Roissy and Marne-La-Vallée, but also in Toulouse in 2021 and Lyon in 2022.
