"Simplifying and streamlining the departure and boarding experience" and "reducing the impact on the environment": these are the main objectives stated by Peter Baumgartner, Head of Sales at Etihad Airways, at the launch of the new mobile boarding passes. The pass can be registered using Apple's Passbook application, or simply saved to the smartphone's mailbox. The new tool is available on departure from Abu Dhabi, London Heathrow, Manchester, Doha, Colombo, Dammam, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Sao Paulo, Istanbul, Minsk, Munich and Tokyo Narita. But Etihad plans to rapidly extend this functionality to its entire network.
