At a time when the advent of flying taxis For several years now, airports have been organising themselves to be ready for take-off. That's why the Urban Blue was unveiled a year ago by several hubs, including Nice airport. And now Sao Paulo airport is embarking on the same adventure.

The Brazilian hub chose VPorts - under a 40-year concession agreement - to take charge of the construction of a vertiport. This must be completed by 2023. The first air taxis are expected to arrive three years later: " By 2026, eVTOLs and air taxis will link Guarulhos to other areas of São Paulo "say those in charge of the project. They anticipate that " More than 100,000 passengers a year are expected to use the terminal by 2045 ".

The new building will have a 5,100 m² surface area and should position Sao Paulo at the forefront of this new mobility in the region. VPorts also plans to deploy its operations control centre for South America in the Brazilian megalopolis. The operation of all VPorts vertiports in the region should therefore be supervised from São Paulo.
