Free, ultra-fast Wi-Fi: Lufthansa bets on Starlink

So Lufthansa has finally given in to the siren song StarlinkThe German group announced on 13 January that it will start equipping its fleet – around 850 aircraft – from this year, starting in the second half. Both the existing fleet and new aircraft will be affected, across all Lufthansa Group airlines. According to the roadmap unveiled yesterday, the entire fleet will be equipped with connectivity Starlink by 2029.

Le Lufthansa Group already claims to be the largest airline group in Europe to modernise its fleet with the latest generation of high-speed Internet access: "no other airline will equip so many aircraft with Starlink technology", says the group's management. However, the details of how this in-flight connectivity will be accessed have yet to be worked out. Lufthansa is talking about a free service for all privileged customers and Travel ID users, in all classes of travel.
